✅ DO:
- Look for the official blue checkmark on all social media accounts. If there is no checkmark, it is an imposter and not an official celebrity or management account.
- Report online impersonators to the social network. Tik Tok, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc all have systems in place to report scammers.
🚫 DO NOT:
- DO NOT under ANY circumstance give personal information or send money via wire transfer, gift cards or prepaid debit cards to anyone, no matter how much they claim to be celebrity or management.
- DO NOT engage with ANYONE claiming they are celebrity or management on an unverified social media account, even if they don’t initially ask for money.
- DO NOT believe any claims about why a fake account lacks a verification mark.
⚠️Warning Signs:
- A
social media post or direct message from a seemingly celebrity-affiliated
account that solicits money for a charitable donation or membership card
- A celebrity or management will NEVER direct message you from an unverified account such as private or fanpage to reach out to fans.
- A social media message from a celebrity saying you’ve won a Meet & Greet but need to pay an entry or processing fee to secure it.
- A family member of a celebrity contacts you. They NEVER contact someones fans on social media
- A celebrity or management tells you to chat with them on 3rd party chat apps such as Telegram, Zangi, BOTIM and etc.
- Look also for videos that looks like deepfake with voice changer/ robot voice and celebrity that holding a sign
