There are ongoing reports of scammers pretending to be Julia Leach, a real lottery winner, and claiming they are giving away large sums of money.
⚠️ How the Scam Works:
You receive a message on Facebook, Instagram, email, or text.
The person claims to be Julia Leach (or her “agent”).
They say you’ve been selected to receive a cash gift.
The catch: You must first pay a “FedEx fee,” “delivery fee,” “insurance fee,” or “processing charge.”
The fee can be any amount — $50, $500, or even thousands.
They often say the money will be delivered through FedEx or another courier.
🚩 Red Flags:
Being asked to pay money to receive “free” money.
Pressure to act immediately.
Requests for gift cards, wire transfers, Cash App, Zelle, or cryptocurrency.
Claims that the fee is refundable (it’s not).
❗ Important:
No legitimate lottery winner will randomly select strangers online and ask them to pay a fee to receive money.
If you are asked to pay money to get money, it is a scam.
✅ What To Do:
Do NOT send money.
Do NOT share personal or financial information.
Block and report the account.
Warn friends and family.
Stay alert and protect yourself from fraud.
